It was an evening of music, interaction, and artistic discovery as Evolution Records recently unveiled its newest signee, Divine Reo, at an event that took place at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
The event brought together industry stakeholders, media personalities, and music enthusiasts, who gathered to witness the introduction of a new voice emerging in Nigeria’s music scene.
Guests were treated to live performances and curated showcase moments that highlighted the new signee’s vocal ability, stage presence, and artistic direction.
Speaking at the unveiling, Divine Reo expressed her passion for music and commitment to creating relatable, story-driven content that connects with listeners across different age groups.
She said, “I make music that edifies and is relatable to everyone—young or old. Wherever you are, you will definitely find value in it. I tell stories through my songs because, as humans, we all go through different phases—happiness, sadness, low moments, and high moments. There’s always something you can connect with.”
She added that her sound is rooted in storytelling and emotional honesty, reflecting different phases of life experiences.
Speaking at the event, the co-founder of Evolution Records, Henry “Pundit” Kufre, welcomed guests and reiterated the label’s commitment to developing talent in a supportive and pressure-free environment.
“Our goal is not to put pressure on our artiste or bully her in any way. We just want the world to see her talent and what she can do. There are currently not many prominent female artistes in Nigeria, and we intend to change that,” he said.
Co-founder of Evolution Records, Dike Isaac, also emphasised that the label was founded on passion rather than profit, adding that its operations are guided by fairness, integrity, and long-term artist development.
